ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ, ਪੰਚਜਨੀ (Pāncajanī) ਇੱਕ ਦੇਵੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਵੀ-ਦੇਵਤਿਆ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਦਕਸ਼ (दक्ष) ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ।[1]

ਪੰਚਜਨੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ "ਪੰਜ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਣਿਆ" ਹੈ।[2]
ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸਕ[ਸੋਧੋ]
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇ ਬੇਟੇ ਦਕਸ਼ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਪੰਚਜਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ।[3] ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ[4] ਅਤੇ ਬੇਟਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ।[5]
ਦਕਸ਼ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਜੀਵਿਤ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ।
ਪੰਚਜਨੀ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਅਦਿਤੀ (ਦੇਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ), ਦਿਤੀ (ਅਸੁਰਾਂ
ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ), ਕ੍ਰਿਤਿਕਾ[6] ਅਤੇ ਰੋਹਿਨੀ (ਚੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ) ਹਨ।[7]
