We are glad to inform you that Project Tiger 2.0/GLOW is going to start very soon. You know about Project Tiger first iteration where we saw exciting and encouraging participation from different Indian Wikimedia communities. To know about Project Tiger 1.0 please see this page

Like project Tiger 1.0, This iteration will have 2 components

• Infrastructure support - Supporting Wikimedians from India with internet support for 6 months and providing Chromebooks. Application is open from 25th August 2019 to 14 September 2019. To know more please visit
• Article writing contest - A 3-month article writing contest will be conducted for Indian Wikimedians communities. Following community feedback, we noted some community members wanted the process of article list generation to be improved. In this iteration, there will be at least two lists of articles

1. Google-generated list,
2. Community suggested list. Google generated list will be given to the community members before finalising the final list. On the other hand, the community may create a list by discussing among the community over Village pump, Mailing list and similar discussion channels.

2. Add your language projects and organizer list to the meta page before October 29th, 2020.
3. Inform your community members WAM 2020 is coming soon!!!
4. If you want WAM team to share your event information on Facebook / twitter, or you want to share your WAM experience/ achievements on our blog, feel free to send an email to info@asianmonth.wiki or PM us via facebook.

If you want to hold a thematic event that is related to WAM, a.k.a. WAM sub-contest. The process is the same as the language one.

International Mother Language Day 2022 edit-a-thon

CIS-A2K announced International Mother Language Day edit-a-thon which is going to take place on 19 & 20 February 2022. The motive of conducting this edit-a-thon is to celebrate International Mother Language Day.

This time we will celebrate the day by creating & developing articles on local Wikimedia projects, such as proofreading the content on Wikisource, items that need to be created on Wikidata [edit Labels & Descriptions], some language-related content must be uploaded on Wikimedia Commons and so on. International Women's Month 2022 edit-a-thon

Indic Wiki Improve-a-thon 2022

Dear Wikimedian, Glad to inform you that CIS-A2K is going to conduct an event, Indic Wiki improve-a-thon 2022, for the Indic language. It will run from 15 December to 5 January 2023. It will be an online activity however if communities want to organise any on-ground activity under Improve-a-thon that would also be welcomed. The event has its own theme Azadi Ka Amrit Mahatosav which is based on a celebration of the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence. The event will be for 20 days only. This is an effort to work on content enrichment and improvement. We invite you to plan a short activity under this event and work on the content on your local Wikis. Image Description Month in India Campaign

A2K has conducted an online activity or campaign which is an ongoing Image Description Month in India description-a-thon, a collaborative effort known as Image Description Month. This initiative aims to enhance image-related content across Wikimedia projects and is currently underway, running from October 1st to October 31st, 2023. Throughout this event, our focus remains centered on three primary areas: Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Commons. Hi, I hope you are doing well. Recently I noticed that in you have added a list of suggested articles here in Folklore and Feminism page. If my guess is correct, this list was generated by a tool developed for WLF team. This is a great list. But, as the developer, I would like to point out a tiny detail that is to be focused.

The Suggested Target Title field is machine translated and therefore, might not always get correct, though in most of the cases, it is correct. This field is to assist but (not to replace) human eyes. It would reduce human time-intensive process of list building upto 99%. But, in some cases, human verification is needed. I hope, this list was verified by human eyes, too, in order to detect any flaws or inconsistency.

Organising Feminism and Folklore

Hello Community Organizers,

Thank you for organising Feminism and Folklore writing competition on your wiki. We congratulate you in joining and celebrating our cultural heritage and promoting gender equality on Wikipedia.

To encourage boost for the contributions of the participants, we're offering prizes for Feminism and Folklore local prizes. Each Wikipedia will have three local winners:

• First Prize: $15 USD
• Second Prize: $10 USD
• Best Jury Article: $5 USD

All this will be in gift voucher format only. Kindly inform your local community regarding these prizes and post them on the local project page

The Best Jury Article will be chosen by the jury based on how unique the article is aligned with the theme. The jury will review all submissions and decide the winner together, making sure it's fair. These articles will also be featured on our social media handles.

We're also providing internet and childcare support to the first 50 organizers and Jury members for who request for it. Remember, only 50 organizers will get this support, and it's given on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration form will close after 50 registrations, and the deadline is March 15, 2024. This support is optional and not compulsory, so if you're interested, fill out the form here.

Each organizer/jury who gets support will receive $30 USD in gift voucher format, even if they're involved in more than one wiki. No dual support will be provided if you have signed up in more than one language. This support is meant to appreciate your volunteer support for the contest.

We also invite all organizers and jury members to join us for office hours on Saturday, March 2, 2024. This session will help you understand the jury process for both contests and give you a chance to ask questions. More details are on meta page.
