ਖੰਨਾ ਨੇ 1971 ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਵ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਨਵਕੇਤਨ ਫਿਲਮਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਰੀ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਫਿਲਮੀ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ। 1989 ਵਿੱਚ ਖੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਪਲੱਸ ਚੈਨਲ ਇੱਕ ਟੈਲੀਵਿਜ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਿੰਗ ਘਰ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਨੇਜਿੰਗ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਅਤੇ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਐਡੀਟਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸਦੇ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਨੇ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਇਵੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪਲੱਸ ਫਿਲਮਜ਼ ਬੈਨਰ ਹੇਠ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਕਈ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਫਿਲਮ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਜਿੱਤੇ। 1996 ਵਿੱਚ ਖੰਨਾ ਨੇ 44ਵੇਂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਫਿਲਮ ਅਵਾਰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਲਮ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਜਿੱਤੇ : ਗੁਡੀਆ ਲਈ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਵੋਤਮ ਫੀਚਰ ਫਿਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰੀ ਬੇਗਮ ਲਈ ਉਰਦੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਵੋਤਮ ਫੀਚਰ ਫਿਲਮ । ਪਲੱਸ ਚੈਨਲ ਨੇ ਗੱਦ ਅਤੇ ਛੰਦ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪੁਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਆਡੀਓ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਇਸਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੈਲੀਵਿਜ਼ਨ 'ਤੇ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
