ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਪਰੇਸੇਰਨ ਸਿਵਲ ਅਤੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸਥਾਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਲੁਵਲੀਜਾਨਾ ਦੀ ਸੂਬਾਈ ਬੁਰਜ਼ਵਾਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਟਕਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ। ਉਹ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪੀਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਰ ਵਾਰ ਠੁਕਰਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਦੋਸਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਉਸਨੇ  ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ ਦੋ ਮੌਕਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਗੀਤਕ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਤਭੂਮੀ ਲਈ, ਪੀੜਤ ਮਾਨਵਤਾ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿਕਾ ਜੁਲੀਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਇਮਿਕ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਕਾਮ ਪਿਆਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਸੀ। [7]

 ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ ਸਲੋਵੀਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ, ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਜਰਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ।[8] ਉਹ ਕਾਰਨੀਓਲਾ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਕਾਰਨੀਓਲਨ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਹੌਲੀ ਹੌਲੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਲੋਵੇਨ ਪਛਾਣ ਆਪਣਾ ਲਈ।[9] ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ, ਫਰਾਂਸੀਸੀ, ਜਰਮਨ, ਇਤਾਲਵੀ, ਸਪੈਨਿਸ਼, ਹੰਗਰੀ, ਸਲੋਵਾਕ, ਪੋਲਿਸ਼, ਰੂਸੀ, ਯੂਕਰੇਨੀ, ਬੇਲਾਰੂਸੀ, ਬੰਗਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਯੂਗੋਸਲਾਵੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ 2013 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਮੁਚੀਆਂ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਫਰਾਂਸੀਸੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। .[2]
