ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦਰਿਆ ਕੇਂਦਰ-ਦੱਖਣੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਲੰਮੇ ਦਰਿਆਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਜਿਹਦੀ ਲੰਬਾਈ ਲਗਭਗ 1,400 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਹੈ। ਮੂਲ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾਵੇਣੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਗੰਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਦਾਵਰੀ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚਲਾ ਤੀਜਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਦਰਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਘਾਟ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਮਹਾਬਾਲੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਦੱਖਣ - ਪੂਰਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਗਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਬੰਗਾਲ ਦੀ ਖਾੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਕੇ ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਪਨਦੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਹਨ: ਤੁੰਗਭਦਰਾ, ਘਾਟਪ੍ਰਭਾ, ਮੂਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਭੀਮਾ। ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਕੰਡੇ ਵਿਜੈਵਾੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਸੀ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਡੇ ਹੈਦਰਾਬਾਦ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਮੁਹਾਨੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਡੈਲਟਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਡੈਲਟਾ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਜਾਊ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ।
