ਲਖਮੀ ਬਰੂਆਹ (ਅੰਗ੍ਰੇਜ਼ੀ: Lakhimi Baruah) ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਬੈਂਕਰ, ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਿਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਿਤ ਸਹਿਕਾਰੀ ਬੈਂਕ ਕੋਨੋਕਲਤਾ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਅਰਬਨ ਕੋਆਪਰੇਟਿਵ ਬੈਂਕ ਫਾਰ ਵੂਮੈਨ ਦੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਹੈ। 2021 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਅਸਾਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸਸ਼ਕਤ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਭਾਰਤ ਗਣਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੌਥਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ, ਪਦਮ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ
[ਸੋਧੋ]ਬਰੂਆ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਜੋਰਹਾਟ, ਅਸਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਬਾਰੂਆ ਨੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਆ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਦੀ ਕਿਸ਼ੋਰ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ; ਉਸਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਲਿਆ। ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, ਬਰੂਆਹ ਨੇ 1969 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ 1973 ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ 1980 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਸ਼ਨ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਬੈਂਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।[1] 2021 ਵਿੱਚ, ਬਰੂਆ ਨੂੰ ਜੋਰਹਾਟ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਿਸਟਮੈਟਿਕ ਵੋਟਰਜ਼ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਐਂਡ ਇਲੈਕਟੋਰਲ ਪਾਰਟੀਸੀਪੇਸ਼ਨ (SVEEP) ਵਜੋਂ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।[4][10]
