ਜੁਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਅੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ 1990 ਤੋਂ 1992 ਤੱਕ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਹਾਲੀਵੁੱਡ ਵਿੱਚ, ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਵਿਜ਼ੀਬਿਲਟੀ ਵੀਕ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।[8] ਇਹ ਐਲ.ਬੀ.ਜੀ.ਟੀ. ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਐਲ.ਜੀ.ਬੀ.ਟੀ. ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਉੱਚ ਦਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ-ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਇਰਾਦਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਸੀ।[9]

ਵੈਸਟ ਹਾਲੀਵੁੱਡ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਵਿਜ਼ੀਬਿਲਟੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਸ ਏਂਜਲਸ ਗੇਅ ਐਂਡ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਸ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਦਾ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਪਛਾਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਜਸ਼ਨ "ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਿੰਗ, ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪਾਂ, ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਮੇਲ ਸੀ।"[10] ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਸਕ੍ਰੀਨਿੰਗ, ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਸੈਕਸ ਚਰਚਾ, ਕੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੋਅ, ਮਾਰਚ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸੀ।[11][12]

2020 ਵਿੱਚ, ਲਿੰਡਾ ਰਿਲੇ, ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਕ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਵਾਂ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਵਿਜ਼ੀਬਿਲਟੀ ਵੀਕ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਦਘਾਟਨੀ ਹਫ਼ਤਾ 20 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 2020 ਤੋਂ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਵਿਜ਼ੀਬਿਲਟੀ ਡੇ, 26 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ।[13] [14] ਐਲ.ਜੀ.ਬੀ.ਟੀ. ਬੁਲਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਲਾਡ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਕੇਟ ਐਲਿਸ ਹੈਂਡਰਸਨ, ਬੀ.ਬੀ.ਸੀ. ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਰੀਡਰ[15] ਜੇਨ ਹਿੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਕੇ ਬਲੈਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਈਡ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਫਿਲ ਓਪੋਕੁ ਗਿਮਾਹ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਕੁਝ ਬ੍ਰਾਂਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੁਦ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੇਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ।[16][17][18]

2021[ਸੋਧੋ]

ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਵਿਜ਼ੀਬਿਲਟੀ ਵੀਕ 2021, 26 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਅਤੇ 2 ਮਈ 2021 ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਦਿਵਾ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ, ਸਟੋਨਵਾਲ (ਇੱਕ ਚੈਰਿਟੀ) ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਲੰਡਨ ਦੇ ਮੇਅਰ ਸਾਦਿਕ ਖਾਨ[19] ਨੇ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਿਟੀ ਹਾਲ, ਲੰਡਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਝੰਡਾ ਲਹਿਰਾਇਆ।[20][21]

ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਦਿਵਸ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਨਿਰੀਖਣ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ 8 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ 1980 ਦੇ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਅਤੇ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।[22][23]

ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਵਿਜ਼ੀਬਿਲਟੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਦਿਵਸ ਬ੍ਰਾਜ਼ੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਮਿਤੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਬ੍ਰਾਜ਼ੀਲ ਦੇ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਕਾਰਕੁਨਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤਾਰੀਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ 29 ਅਗਸਤ, 1996 ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਲੈਸਬੀਅਨ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ - ਸੇਨੇਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ 2003 ਤੋਂ ਹਰ 29 ਅਗਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।[24][25]
