ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ 2017 ਦੀ ਮਰਦਮਸ਼ੁਮਾਰੀ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸਤ੍ਰਿਤ ਗਣਨਾ ਸੀ ਜੋ 15 ਮਾਰਚ 2017 ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ 25 ਮਈ 2017 ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਹੋਈ। ਇਹ 21ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਮਰਦਮਸ਼ੁਮਾਰੀ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਕਿ 1998 ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਈ ਪਿਛਲੀ ਮਰਦਮਸ਼ੁਮਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ 19 ਸਾਲ ਬਾਅਦ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਬਿਊਰੋ ਆਫ਼ ਸਟੈਟਿਸਟਿਕਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
ਜਨਗਣਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ ਆਬਾਦੀ 213,222,917 ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।[note 1] ਨਤੀਜਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਕਿ 1998 ਅਤੇ 2017 ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ 77.0 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ +56.5% ਦਾ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।[note 2] ਮਰਦਮਸ਼ੁਮਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਅਨੁਮਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਨਤੀਜਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ 2017 ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਆਬਾਦੀ 195 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਅਤੇ 200 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਮਾਨ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।[4][5]
ਇਸ ਜਨਗਣਨਾ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਵਿਵਾਦ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਕਰਾਚੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੰਧ ਪ੍ਰਾਂਤ ਦੀ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਸੀ, ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਵਜੋਂ 2023 ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਜਨਗਣਨਾ ਤਹਿ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਉਸ ਜਨਗਣਨਾ ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ 2023 ਦੀਆਂ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਆਮ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਲਈ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੱਦਬੰਦੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
