ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਤੋਤੇ (New Zealand parrot) ਦਾ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਸਟਰਿੰਗੋਪਿਡਾਏ (Strigopidae) ਹੈ।[੧] ਇਹ ਤੋਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਗਣ (order) ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਕੁਲ (family) ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਕੁਲ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੋਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਵੰਸ਼ (genera) ਆਉੰਦੇ ਹਨ: ਨੇਸਟਰ (Nestor) ਅਤੇ ਸਟਰਿਗੋਪਜ਼ (Strigops).[੨]
