ਭਾਰਤੀ ਗ੍ਰਾਮੀਣ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸੰਘ ਜਾਂ ਬੀ.ਜੀ.ਐਮ.ਐਸ. (ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਆਫ਼ ਰੂਰਲ ਵੁਮੈਨ ਇੰਡੀਆ), 1955 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ, 14 ਰਾਜਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਭਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਖ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਗ਼ੈਰ-ਸਿਆਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਗ਼ੈਰ-ਸੰਪਰਦਾਇਕ ਕੌਮੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਹੈ।[1][2][3]
ਬੀਜੀਐਮਐਸ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਔਰਤਾਂ, ਬੱਚਿਆਂ, ਬੁਢਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਸ਼ਕ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਲਾਈ, ਵਿਕਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਕਰਨ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਐਨਡੀਡੀਸੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ,[4] ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿਚਲੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸਸ਼ਕਤੀਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਮੰਡਲ (ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਵੈ-ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਸਮੂਹ) ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।[5][6]
