ਸੋਨੀ ਮਿਊਜ਼ਿਕ ਐਂਟਰਟੇਨਮੈਂਟ (SME), ਆਮ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸੋਨੀ ਮਿਊਜ਼ਿਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇੱਕ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਬਹੁ-ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਸੋਨੀ ਐਂਟਰਟੇਨਮੈਂਟ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਬਹੁ-ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸਮੂਹ ਸੋਨੀ ਦੇ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਛਤਰੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸੋਨੀ ਮਿਊਜ਼ਿਕ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਦਾ ਰਿਕਾਰਡਿੰਗ ਡਿਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਹੈ, ਬਾਕੀ ਅੱਧਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਨ ਡਿਵੀਜ਼ਨ, ਸੋਨੀ ਮਿਊਜ਼ਿਕ ਪਬਲਿਸ਼ਿੰਗ ਹੈ।[1]
17 ਜੁਲਾਈ, 2019 ਨੂੰ, ਸੋਨੀ ਨੇ ਸੋਨੀ ਮਿਊਜ਼ਿਕ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸੋਨੀ ਮਿਊਜ਼ਿਕ ਐਂਟਰਟੇਨਮੈਂਟ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਊਜ਼ਿਕ ਪਬਲਿਸ਼ਿੰਗ ਆਰਮ ਸੋਨੀ/ਏਟੀਵੀ ਦੇ ਰਲੇਵੇਂ ਦੀ ਘੋਸ਼ਣਾ ਕੀਤੀ।[2] ਰਲੇਵਾਂ 1 ਅਗਸਤ, 2019 ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਇਆ[3][4]
