ਮੰਗਲ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੂਰਜ ਤੋਂ ਚੌਥਾ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਹੈ। ਮੰਗਲ (1.5 AU) ਧਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਛੋਟਾ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਹੈ (0.107 ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਭਾਰ) । ਇਸ ਦੇ ਦਾ ਵਾਯੂ ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਤਰ ਕਾਰਬਨ ਡਾਈਆਕਸਾਈਡ ਪਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਦੀ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਲੋਹਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ, ਜੰਗ ਦੀ ਵਜਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਲਾਲ ਦਿਸਦਾ ਹੈ ।[੧] ਮੰਗਲ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਉਪਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਹਨ, ਡੇਮੋਸ (ਅੰਗ੍ਰੇਜੀ: Deimos) ਅਤੇ ਫੋਬੋਸ (ਅੰਗ੍ਰੇਜੀ: Phobos)[੨]
