ਜੋਗਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਗਰਾਹਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਫੌਜੀ, ਕਮਿਊਨਿਸਟ ਆਗੂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਆਗੂ, ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 1945 ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਨਾਮ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।[1][2][3][4] ਉਹ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ (ਏਕਤਾ ਉਗਰਾਹਾਂ)[5] ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ।[6][7][8][9] ਉਸਨੇ 2002 ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ (ਏਕਤਾ ਉਗਰਾਹਾਂ) ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ।[3][10]

ਆਰੰਭਿਕ ਜੀਵਨ[ਸੋਧੋ]

ਉਗਰਾਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 1945 ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸੰਗਰੂਰ ਦੇ ਸੁਨਾਮ ਕਸਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ 1975 ਵਿੱਚ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੌਜ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਤੀਫਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।[11] ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ, ਉਸਨੇ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਰਪੋਰੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੋਸ਼ਣ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਯੂਨੀਅਨਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਧਰਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ।[12][13][14] ਮਾਰਚ 2021 ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਗਰਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਕਾਰਾਤਮਕ ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਟੈਸਟ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਲੱਗ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।[15]

ਉਗਰਾਹਾਂ ਨੇ 2020-2021 ਦੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਦੇ ਏਕਤਾ ਉਗਰਾਹਾਂ ਧੜੇ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਰਹੱਦਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਦਲ ਸੀ।[16] ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਵਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਲੀਲ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਮਝੌਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੇਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।[13][17][18]
