ਨੀਨਾ ਹਯਾਮਸ (ਜਨਮ 1952) ਲਾਸ ਏਂਜਲਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਖੋਜ ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰ ਐਮਰੀਟਸ ਹੈ।[1]

ਹਾਇਮਸ ਨੇ CUNY ਤੋਂ 1983 ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੀਐਚਡੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਰਲੇਖ ਹੈ, ਪੈਰਾਮੀਟਰਾਈਜ਼ਡ ਵਿਆਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ।[2] ਇਹ ਸਪ੍ਰਿੰਗਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ 1986 ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ,[3] ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਹਵਾਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਕਲਾਸਿਕ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।[4]
