ਮੋਹਨ ਲਾਲ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਨਾਥਨ (ਅੰਗ੍ਰੇਜ਼ੀ: Mohanlal Viswanathan; ਜਨਮ 21 ਮਈ 1960), ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਨਲਾਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਲਮ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੁੱਖ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਮਲਿਆਲਮ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ-ਕਦੇ ਤਾਮਿਲ, ਹਿੰਦੀ, ਤੇਲਗੂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਨੜ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।[1][2][3] ਮੋਹਨ ਲਾਲ ਦਾ ਚਾਰ ਦਹਾਕਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸਨੇ 400 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।[4] ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ 2001 ਵਿੱਚ ਪਦਮ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ[5] ਅਤੇ 2019 ਵਿੱਚ ਪਦਮ ਭੂਸ਼ਣ, ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਸਨਮਾਨ,[6] ਨਾਲ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਦੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। 2009 ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਬਣੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਟੈਰੀਟੋਰੀਅਲ ਆਰਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਕਰਨਲ ਦੇ ਆਨਰੇਰੀ ਰੈਂਕ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।[7][8] ਮੋਹਨ ਲਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਸੀਐਨਐਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ "ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਦਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਬਦਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ" ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।[9] 2025 ਵਿੱਚ, ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ "ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ" ਲਈ, ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ, ਦਾਦਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਫਾਲਕੇ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।[10][11]
ਮੋਹਨ ਲਾਲ ਨੇ 1978 ਵਿੱਚ ਮਲਿਆਲਮ ਫਿਲਮ ਥਿਰਨੋਤਮ ਵਿੱਚ 18 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਦਾਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਸੈਂਸਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਹ ਫਿਲਮ 25 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਲਈ ਰਿਲੀਜ਼ ਹੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਈ। ਉਸਦੀ ਸਕ੍ਰੀਨ ਡੈਬਿਊ 1980 ਦੀ ਰੋਮਾਂਸ ਫਿਲਮ ਮੰਜਿਲ ਵਿਰਿੰਜਾ ਪੂੱਕਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਨੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ ਸੀ।[12][13] ਉਸਨੇ ਖਲਨਾਇਕ ਭੂਮਿਕਾਵਾਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਭੂਮਿਕਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ। 1980 ਦੇ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਅੱਧ ਤੱਕ, ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਬੈਂਕੇਬਲ ਮੁੱਖ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ 1986 ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਸਫਲ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਭਿਨੈ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਟਾਰਡਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ; ਉਸ ਸਾਲ ਰਿਲੀਜ਼ ਹੋਏ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਨਾਟਕ ਰਾਜਾਵਿਨਤੇ ਮਾਕਨ ਨੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਸਟਾਰਡਮ ਵਧਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਮੋਹਨ ਲਾਲ ਮਲਿਆਲਮ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਝ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਗੈਰ-ਮਲਿਆਲਮ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਮਿਲ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਡਰਾਮਾ ਇਰੂਵਰ (1997), ਹਿੰਦੀ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਡਰਾਮਾ ਕੰਪਨੀ (2002) ਅਤੇ ਤੇਲਗੂ ਫਿਲਮ ਜਨਾਥ ਗੈਰੇਜ (2016) ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।[14][15]
ਮੋਹਨ ਲਾਲ ਨੇ ਪੰਜ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਫਿਲਮ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਜਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ — ਦੋ ਸਰਬੋਤਮ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ, ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਜਿਊਰੀ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਦਾਕਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਜਿਊਰੀ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ, ਅਤੇ ਸਰਬੋਤਮ ਫੀਚਰ ਫਿਲਮ (ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾ ਵਜੋਂ) ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ, ਨੌਂ ਕੇਰਲਾ ਰਾਜ ਫਿਲਮ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਲਮਫੇਅਰ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਸਾਊਥ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ । ਉਸਨੂੰ 2010 ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਸ਼ੰਕਰਾਚਾਰੀਆ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ[16] ਅਤੇ 2018 ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲੀਕਟ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਆਨਰੇਰੀ ਡਾਕਟਰੇਟ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ।[17]
