ਵਿਦਿਆ ਧਰ ਮਹਾਜਨ
ਵਿਦਿਆ ਧਰ ਮਹਾਜਨ (1913 - 10 ਜੁਲਾਈ 1990) ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕਾਰ, ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨੀ, ਅਤੇ ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਸੀ।
ਜੀਵਨੀ[ਸੋਧੋ]
ਮਹਾਜਨ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ 1913 ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। [1] [2] ਉਸਨੇ ਦੋ ਵਾਰ ਐਮਏ ਕੀਤੀ - ਡੀਏਵੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਲਾਹੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਦੀ। [3] 1945 ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ
ਪੀਐਚ.ਡੀ. ਦੀ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਐਲਐਲਬੀ। [4] [3] ਉਸਨੇ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਦੇ ਸਨਾਤਨ ਧਰਮ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ "ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ" ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਪੈਂਟਸ ਯੂ. ਕਾਲਜ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਅਧਿਆਪਨ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ। [5] [6] [7] ਮਹਾਜਨ ਇੰਡੀਅਨ ਹਿਸਟਰੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸਨ। [8] ਉਸਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ, ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ, ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨਕ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਵਾਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਕੀਤਾ। [6] ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਕੀਲ ਵੀ ਸੀ। [9]
ਉਸਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਸਾਵਿਤਰੀ ਸ਼ੋਰੀ ਮਹਾਜਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਵੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕਾਰ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਸੁਚੇਤਾ ਮਹਾਜਨ ਅਤੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੁਲਾ ਮੁਖਰਜੀ ਵੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕਾਰ ਹਨ। [10] ਸੁਚੇਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੁਲਾ ਜਵਾਹਰ ਲਾਲ ਨਹਿਰੂ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਫਾਰ ਹਿਸਟੋਰੀਕਲ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਰਹਿ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਹਨ। [10] [11] ਸੁਚੇਤਾ ਓਹੀਓ ਦੇ ਵੂਸਟਰ ਕਾਲਜ ਅਤੇ ਪੈਰਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਾਊਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ ਮੇਸਨ ਡੇਸ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਡੀ ਲ'ਹੋਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਜ਼ਿਟਿੰਗ ਸਕਾਲਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। [10] ਮਹਾਜਨ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ 10 ਜੁਲਾਈ 1990 ਨੂੰ ਲਗਭਗ 77 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। [9]
