ਮਾਇਰਟਲ ਐਲਨ (ਜਨਮ 1924, ਟੀਵੋਲੀ, ਕੋਰਕ, ਕਾਉਂਟੀ ਕੋਰਕ), ਇੱਕ ਆਇਰਿਸ਼ ਮੈਕਲਿਨ ਸਟਾਰ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਚੇਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਾਗੇਰੀ, ਕਾਉਂਟੀ ਕੋਰਕ ਦੇ ਬੈਲੀਮੋਲ ਹਾਊਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦ ਯੇਟਸ ਰੂਮ ਰੇਸਟੋਰੇਂਟ ਦੀ ਸਹਿ-ਮਾਲਕਣ ਸੀ। ਕੂਕਿੰਗ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਲੇਖਿਕਾ, ਹੋਟਲ-ਮਾਲਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾ ਵੀ ਸੀ।
ਜੀਵਨ[ਸੋਧੋ]
1943 ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਇਰਟਲ ਹਿੱਲ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਇਵਾਨ ਐਲਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ, ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਸਬਜੀ ਉਤਪਾਦਕ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੀਨੋਥ,ਸ਼ਾਨਾਗੇਰੀ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਜੋੜੇ ਨੇ ਬੈਲੀਮੋਲ ਹਾਊਸ ਅਤੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਰੀਦਿਆ।[2] .
ਮਾਇਰਟਲ ਐਲਨ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਇਵਾਨ ਦੀ 1998 ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ

- 1990: the Ackerman Martell Guide the black four-leaved clover for excellence in all aspects of the hotel and restaurant business
- 1991: Ballymaloe House included in Harpers and Queen 'The one hundred Best Hotels in the World'
- 2000: Degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa – awarded by the University College Cork[4]
- 2011: Taste Icon award – presented by Taste of Dublin[5]
- 2011: Lifetime Achievement Award – Women and Agriculture Awards[6]
- 2014: Lifetime Achievement Award from the Irish Food Writers' Guild[7]
