ਕਰਫਿਊ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੁਝ ਨਿਯਮ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।[1] ਆਮ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ, ਕਰਫਿਊ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਾ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।[2][3] ਅਜਿਹਾ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਅਕਸਰ ਜਨਤਕ ਅਥਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਦਾਹਰਨ ਲਈ, ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਸਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਰਫਿਊ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਔ ਜੋੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਕਰਫਿਊ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੇਜ਼ਬਾਨ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੁਝ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਬਾਲਗ ਕਰਫਿਊ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਉਮਰ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਬਾਲਗ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਜਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਿਤ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ।
