ਚੌਪਾਲ (ਜਨਤਕ ਥਾਂ)
ਚੌਪਾਲ ( ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨੀ : चौपाल ਜਾਂ چوپال), ਜਾਂ ਚੋਪਾਲ, ਉੱਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਕ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਜਾਂ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਹੈ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਮਰਦ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਲਈ। ਛੋਟੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਚੌਪਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਸਧਾਰਨ ਉੱਚਾ ਥੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਦਰੱਖਤ, ਆਮ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਨਿੰਮ੍ਹ, ਬੋਹੜ ਜਾਂ ਪਿੱਪਲ ਦੇ ਅੰਜੀਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਛਾਂਦਾਰ ਰੁੱਖ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵੱਡੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਚੌਪਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸਤ੍ਰਿਤ ਢਾਂਚਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਕਮਿਊਨਿਟੀ ਗੈਸਟ ਹਾਊਸ (ਜਾਂ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਖ਼ਾਨਾ ) ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਦੁੱਗਣਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।[1]
ਭਾਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਪੰਚਾਇਤਾਂ (ਪਿੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ) ਆਮ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਚੌਪਾਲ ਹੇਠ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਣਵਾਈਆਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਭਾਰਤੀ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੀ ਵਿਵਾਹਿਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਨਿਯਮ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਚੌਪਾਲ ਅਕਸਰ ਉਹ ਸਥਾਨ ਵੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ " ਪਿੰਡ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਧੀ " ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਹੋਣ 'ਤੇ ਲਾੜੇ ਦੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।[2]
ਚੌਪਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਂਭ-ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਮਿਊਨਿਟੀ ਫੰਡਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਕ ਦਾਨ (ਚੰਦਾ, ਚੰਦਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।[3]
ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੌਪਾਲ ਦੀ ਧਾਰਨਾ[ਸੋਧੋ]
ਭਾਵੇਂ ਚੌਪਾਲ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਚਲਿਤ ਧਾਰਨਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚੌਪਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਲੋਕ "ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਮਨਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ, ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਦਰਦ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲਝਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। " ਇਹ " ਧਰਮ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ " ਹੈ ਜੋ "ਹਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਲਣ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵੇ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੀ ਗਰੰਟੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।[4] ਟੈਲੀਵਿਜ਼ਨ ਟਾਕ ਸ਼ੋਅ, ਔਨਲਾਈਨ ਵੈਬਸਾਈਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਫੋਰਮ ਕਦੇ-ਕਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ " ਚੌਪਾਲ " ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੁਫਤ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਰੁਝੇਵਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।[5]
