ਉਹ 2013 ਦੀਆਂ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਆਮ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੈਬਰ ਪਖਤੂਨਖਵਾ ਤੋਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਲਈ ਰਾਖਵੀਂ ਸੀਟ 'ਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਤਹਿਰੀਕ-ਏ-ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ (ਪੀਟੀਆਈ) ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਅਸੈਂਬਲੀ ਲਈ ਚੁਣੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।[1][2][3][4]
2014 ਵਿੱਚ, ਪੀਟੀਆਈ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਅਸੈਂਬਲੀ ਦੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਤੋਂ ਅਯੋਗ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ।[5][6]
ਮਈ 2018 ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸਨੇ ਪੀਟੀਆਈ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਤੰਬਰ 2021 ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਹ ਅਵਾਮੀ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
