ਵਿਜੇਕਲਾ ਮਹੇਸ਼ਵਰਨ, ਐਮਪੀ (ਅੰਗ੍ਰੇਜ਼ੀ: Vijayakala Maheswaran ਤਮਿਲ਼: விஜயகலா மகேசுவரன்; ਜਨਮ 23 ਨਵੰਬਰ 1972) ਇੱਕ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਦਾ ਤਮਿਲ ਸਿਆਸਤਦਾਨ ਹੈ। ਜਾਫਨਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਤੋਂ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ, ਉਹ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਰਾਜ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਰਾਜ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ 2020 ਦੀਆਂ ਆਮ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਸਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੀਟ ਹਾਰ ਗਈ ਸੀ।[1]

ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ[ਸੋਧੋ]

ਮਹੇਸ਼ਵਰਨ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 23 ਨਵੰਬਰ 1972 ਨੂੰ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।[2] ਉਹ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਦੇ ਕਰਾਈਨਗਰ ਟਾਪੂ 'ਤੇ ਕਾਲਾਪੂਮੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਤੋਂ ਮਾਰਕੰਡੂ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਹੈ।[3] ਉਸਨੇ ਡਾ. ਏ. ਤਿਆਗਰਾਜ ਮੱਧ ਮਹਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਲਯਮ (ਕਰਾਇਨਗਰ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਕਾਲਜ) ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।[4]

ਮਹੇਸ਼ਵਰਨ ਨੇ ਟੀ. ਮਹੇਸ਼ਵਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਜਨਵਰੀ 2008 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਹਮਾਇਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਅਰਧ ਸੈਨਿਕ ਦਲ, ਈਲਮ ਪੀਪਲਜ਼ ਡੈਮੋਕ੍ਰੇਟਿਕ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਤਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸੀ। [5][6] ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਬੱਚੇ, ਦੋ ਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ।

ਸਿਆਸੀ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ[ਸੋਧੋ]

ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮਹੇਸ਼ਵਰਨ ਨੇ ਜਾਫਨਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮੋਰਚੇ ਦੇ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵਜੋਂ 2010 ਦੀਆਂ ਸੰਸਦੀ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਲੜੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਦ ਲਈ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ।[7] 2015 ਦੀਆਂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਨਵੇਂ ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਮੈਤਰੀਪਾਲਾ ਸਿਰੀਸੇਨਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।[8][9]

ਮਹੇਸ਼ਵਰਨ 2015 ਦੀਆਂ ਸੰਸਦੀ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਫਨਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਨਾਈਟਿਡ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਫਰੰਟ ਫਾਰ ਗੁੱਡ ਗਵਰਨੈਂਸ ਦੇ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਚੁਣੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਈ।[10][11][12] ਉਸਨੇ 9 ਸਤੰਬਰ 2015 ਨੂੰ ਬਾਲ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਹੁੰ ਚੁੱਕੀ।[13][14][15]
