ਸ਼ੇਖਰ ਸੁਮਨ ਅਲਕਾ ਕਪੂਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ 4 ਮਈ 1983 ਨੂੰ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਅਧਿਆਨ ਸੁਮਨ, ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਬਾਲੀਵੁੱਡ ਫਿਲਮ ਅਭਿਨੇਤਾ ਹੈ।[2][3][4][5] ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਆਯੂਸ਼ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸਦੀ 11 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ।[6]
