ਸੰਤ ਸੋਯਾਰਾਬਾਈ
ਸੋਯਾਰਾਬਾਈ 14ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ, ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਰ ਜਾਤੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਤ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਚੋਖਾਮੇਲਾ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣ ਸੀ।[1][2]
ਸੋਯਾਰਾਬਾਈ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਨਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਖਾਲੀ ਆਇਤ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਮਾਤਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪਰ ਲਗਭਗ 62 ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਜਾਣੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।[3] ਆਪਣੇ ਅਭੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਖਾਮੇਲਾ ਦੀ ਮਹਾਰੀ, ਰੱਬ 'ਤੇ ਦਲਿਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲਣ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਖਰਾਬ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਦੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਆਇਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਸਾਧਾਰਨ ਭੋਜਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੜਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਛੂਤ-ਛਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।[4]
ਸੋਯਾਰਾਬਾਈ ਦਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ "ਸਰੀਰ ਹੀ ਅਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਜਾਂ ਪਲੀਤ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਫ, ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਗਿਆਨ ਹੈ। ਸਰੀਰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਸਰੀਰ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਤਮਾ ਇਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਅਛੂਤ ਹੈ।"[5]
ਸੋਯਾਰਾਬਾਈ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਢਰਪੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਤੀਰਥ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟੜਪੰਥੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ।[6]
