96ਵਾਂ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਇਨਾਮ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਅਕੈਡਮੀ ਆਫ ਮੋਸ਼ਨ ਪਿਕਚਰ ਆਰਟਸ ਐਂਡ ਸਾਇੰਸਜ਼ (AMPAS) ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, 10 ਮਾਰਚ, 2024 ਨੂੰ, ਹਾਲੀਵੁੱਡ, ਲਾਸ ਏਂਜਲਸ ਦੇ ਡੌਲਬੀ ਥੀਏਟਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।[2] ਗਾਲਾ ਦੌਰਾਨ, AMPAS ਨੇ 2023 ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਲੀਜ਼ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ 23 ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕੈਡਮੀ ਅਵਾਰਡ (ਆਮ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਆਸਕਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ। ਕਾਮੇਡੀਅਨ ਜਿੰਮੀ ਕਿਮਲ ਨੇ 2017 ਵਿੱਚ 89ਵੇਂ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ, 2018 ਵਿੱਚ 90ਵੇਂ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਅਤੇ 2023 ਵਿੱਚ 95ਵੇਂ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਚੌਥੀ ਵਾਰ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਦੀ ਮੇਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ।[3]
ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ 23 ਜਨਵਰੀ, 2024 ਨੂੰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਓਪਨਹਾਈਮਰ ਨੇ 13 ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕ੍ਰਮਵਾਰ 11 ਅਤੇ 10 ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੁਅਰ ਥਿੰਗਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਲਰਸ ਆਫ਼ ਦਾ ਫਲਾਵਰ ਮੂਨ ਰਿਹਾ।[4][5][6] ਓਪਨਹਾਈਮਰ ਨੇ ਸਰਵੋਤਮ ਫਿਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਵੋਤਮ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਸਮੇਤ ਮੋਹਰੀ ਸੱਤ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਜਿੱਤੇ।[7] ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਜੇਤੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਰ ਅਵਾਰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਅਰ ਥਿੰਗਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਦਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਸੀ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਕ-ਇਕ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਘਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਮਰੀਕਨ ਫਿਕਸ਼ਨ, ਐਨਾਟੋਮੀ ਆਫ ਏ ਫਾਲ, ਬਾਰਬੀ, ਦ ਬੁਆਏ ਐਂਡ ਦਿ ਹੇਰਨ, ਗੌਡਜ਼ਿਲਾ ਮਾਈਨਸ ਵਨ, ਦ ਹੋਲਡੋਵਰ ਅਤੇ 20 ਡੇਜ਼ ਇਨ ਮਾਰੀਉਪੋਲ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਟੈਲੀਕਾਸਟ 19.5 ਡਰਾਅ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਦਰਸ਼ਕ, 2020 ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।[8]
