ਯੌਂ ਪਿਆਜੇ (ਯੂਕੇ: /piˈæʒ/,[9][10] ਯੂਐਸ: /ˌpəˈʒ, pjɑːˈʒ/,[9][11][12][13][14] (ਫ਼ਰਾਂਸੀਸੀ: [ʒɑ̃ pjaʒɛ]; 9 ਅਗਸਤ 1896 – 16 ਸਤੰਬਰ 1980) ਸਵਿੱਸ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਲਾਸਫ਼ਰ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੋਧਵਿਗਿਆਨਿਕ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਲਈ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਿਆਜੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸੇਸ਼ ਸਥਾਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਿਆਜੇ ਦਾ ਬੋਧਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਧਾਂਤ ਅਤੇ ਐਪਿਸਟੋਮੌਲੋਜੀਕਲ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ "ਜੈਨੇਟਿਕ ਐਪਿਸਟੋਮੌਲੋਜੀ" ਕਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਿਆਜੇ ਨੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਬਿਊਰੋ ਆਫ਼ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਤੇ, ਉਸਨੇ 1934 ਵਿੱਚ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ “ਸਿਰਫ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਹੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮਾਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਂ ਸਹਿਜੇ-ਸਹਿਜੇ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਿਤ ਬਰਬਾਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ।"[15] ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਲ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਪੂਰਵ-ਸਰਵਿਸ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਿੱਖਿਅਕ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਦ-ਅਧਾਰਤ ਰਣਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਿਆਜ਼ੇ ਨੇ 1955 ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਫਾਰ ਜੈਨੇਟਿਕ ਐਪਿਸਟੀਮੋਲੋਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ 1980 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਤ ਤਕ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਨਕੀਤਾ।[16] ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਭਿਆਲੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਦੇ ਫਲਸਰੂਪ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਵਤਾਪੂਰਨ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ "ਪਿਆਜ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਫੈਕਟਰੀ" ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।[17]

ਅਰਨਸਟ ਵਾਨ ਗਲੇਜ਼ਰਸਫ਼ੇਲਡ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਜੀਨ ਪਿਆਜ਼ੇ "ਬੋਧ ਦਾ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਦੀ ਸਿਧਾਂਤ ਦਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਮੋਢੀ ਸੀ।"[18] ਐਪਰ, ਉਸਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ 1960 ਦੇ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਤਕ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।[19] ਇਸ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਉੱਪ-ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਭਰਨ ਵੱਲ ਅੱਗੇ ਤੋਰਿਆ।[20] 20 ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਤੱਕ, ਪਿਆਜ਼ੇ ਉਸ ਦੌਰ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਹਵਾਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਬੀ. ਐਫ. ਸਕਿਨਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੰਬਰ ਤੇ ਸੀ।[21]
