ਟਟਹਿਣਾ(Lampyridae) ਇੱਕ ਕੀਟ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਡਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੀਟ ਹੈ। ਇਹਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਤੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਏ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸਾਥੀ ਕੀਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਲ ਖਿੱਚਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹਦੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਨੂੰ ਠੰਡਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਛੱਲ-ਲੰਬਾਈ ਲਗਭਗ 510 ਤੋਂ 670 ਨੈਨੋਮੀਟਰ ਤੱਕ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਇਸਦੀਆਂ 2,000 ਪ੍ਰਜਾਤੀਆਂ ਸ਼ੀਤੋਸ਼ਣ ਅਤੇ ਊਸ਼ਣ ਕਟਿਬੰਧੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਦਲਦਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲਾਰਵੇ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਕੁਝ ਮੱਧਮ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਗਲੋਵਾਰਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੇਨਗੋਡੀਆਡੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਟਟਿਹਣੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਰ ਟਟਹਿਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਦਾ ਟਟਹਿਣਾ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਉੱਡ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰ੍ਜਾਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮਾਦਾ ਟਟਹਿਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਉੱਡ ਸਕਦੇ।
