2019-20 ਕੋਰੋਨਾਵਾਇਰਸ ਮਹਾਮਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ 30 ਜਨਵਰੀ 2020 ਨੂੰ ਦਰਜ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਚੀਨ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। 3 ਨਵੰਬਰ 2024 ਤੱਕ, ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਭਲਾਈ ਮੰਤਰਾਲਾ ਨੇ ਕੁੱਲ 979 ਮਾਮਲੇ, 86 ਰਿਕਵਰ ਹੋਏ ਮਾਮਲੇ, 1 ਮਾਈਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ 25 ਮੌਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਝਾਓ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਨਫੈਕਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਮਾਨ ਘੱਟ-ਵੱਧ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ-ਦਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੱਟ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਹੈ।[6] ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ COVID-19 ਦੀ ਇਨਫੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਦਰ 1.7 ਹੋਣੀ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਬੁਰੀ ਤਰਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਨਿਊਨਤਮ ਹੈ।[7]

ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ 18 ਮਾਰਚ 2020 ਤੱਕ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ 276 ਪੱਕੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਇਰਾਨ (255) ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਯੂਨਾਈਟਡ ਅਰਬ ਐਮੀਰਾਤ, ਇਟਲੀ, ਕੁਵੈਤ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਲੰਕਾ, ਰਵਾਂਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਂਗਕਾਂਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ।[52] One Indian died in Iran on 20 March 2020.[53] ਇੱਕ 3-ਸਾਲਾ ਭਾਰੀ ਲੜਕੀ 26 ਮਾਰਚ 2020 ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਗਾਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੌਜ਼ਟਿਵ ਪਾਈ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸਨਾਕ ਕੁੱਲ ਗਿਣਤੀ 277 ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।[54]
