ਅਨੀਤਾ ਨਾਇਰ (ਮਲਿਆਲਮ: അനിത നായർ; ਅੰਗਰੇਜੀ: Anita Nair) ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਅੰਗਰੇਜੀ ਲੇਖਿਕਾ ਹੈ। ਕੇਰਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਨਮੀ[1] ਅਨੀਤਾ ਨੇ 1997 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਤਦ ਲਿਖੀ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਬੰਗਲੌਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਇਸ਼ਤਿਹਾਰ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਰਾਂ ਨਾਵਲ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ।

ਮੁੱਢਲਾ ਜੀਵਨ[ਸੋਧੋ]

ਨਾਇਰ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਕੇਰਲਾ ਦੇ ਪਲਾਕਡ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੋਰੇਨੂਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।[2][3] ਨਾਇਰ ਨੇ ਕੇਰਲਾ ਪਰਤਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਚੇਨਈ (ਮਦਰਾਸ) ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਦੀ ਬੀ.ਏ. ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ, ਸੁਰੇਸ਼ ਪਰਮਬਥ[4] ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੇਟੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਗਲੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।[5]

ਨਾਇਰ ਬੰਗਲੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਇਸ਼ਤਿਹਾਰਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਾਤਮਕ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਕਿਤਾਬ, "ਸਟੀਰ ਆਫ਼ ਦ ਸਬਵੇਅ" ਨਾਮਕ ਛੋਟੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰ-ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਚਿਆ। ਕਿਤਾਬ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਜੀਨੀਆ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਫਾਰ ਦਿ ਕਰੀਏਟਿਵ ਆਰਟਸ ਤੋਂ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪ ਜਿੱਤੀ।

ਨਾਇਰ ਦੀ ਦੂਜੀ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਪੈਨਗੁਇਨ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਲੇਖਕ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਪਿਕਡੋਰ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਗਲਪ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵਿਕਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਲੇਖਕ, ਨਾਇਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਵਲ ਦਿ ਬੈਟਰ ਮੈਨ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਡੀਜ਼ ਕੂਪੇ ਦਾ 21 ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਨਾਇਰ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਢਲੇ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਉਹ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ 1990 ਦੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਗਲੌਰ ਮਾਸਿਕ ਰਸਾਲੇ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ "080" ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਲਈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਐਕਸਪਲੋਸਿਟੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ 'ਦਿ ਇਕਨਾਮਿਕਲ ਐਪੀਕਿਸਰਿਅਨ' ਸਿਰਲੇਖ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਕਾਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

2002 ਵਿੱਚ, ਲੇਡੀਜ਼ ਕੂਪ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਪੰਜ ਸਰਬੋਤਮ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
