ਜੀਨ ਸਈਦ ਮਕਦੀਸੀ
ਜੀਨ ਸਈਦ ਮਕਦੀਸੀ (Arabic: جين سعيد مقدسي) (ਜਨਮ 1940) ਇੱਕ ਫ਼ਲਸਤੀਨੀ ਲੇਖਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਵੈ-ਜੀਵਨੀ ਲਈ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੈ।[1]

ਜੀਨ ਸਈਦ ਮਕਦੀਸੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ, ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਮੈਂਡੇਟ ਫ਼ਲਸਤੀਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਫ਼ਲਸਤੀਨੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਰੋਜ਼ਮੇਰੀ ਸਈਦ ਜ਼ਹਲਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਐਡਵਰਡ ਸਈਦ ਦੀ ਛੋਟੀ ਭੈਣ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਪੋਸ਼ਣ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।[2] ਉਸ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਲਸਤੀਨੀ ਮੂਲ ਦੇ ਲੇਬਨਾਨੀ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ, ਸਮੀਰ ਮਕਦੀਸੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਹ 1972 ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਰੂਤ, ਲੇਬਨਾਨ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ,[3] ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬੇਰੂਤ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਵਤਾ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ।[4] ਉਹ ਪੂਰੇ ਲੇਬਨਾਨੀ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਯੁੱਧ ਅਤੇ 1982 ਲੇਬਨਾਨ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਬੇਰੂਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹੀ।
ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਆਲੋਚਕ ਸਾੜੀ ਮਕਦੀਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕਾਰ ਉਸਾਮਾ ਮਕਦੀਸੀ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਹੈ।[5]
