ਬਿਸ਼ਨੂਪ੍ਰਿਆ ਮਨੀਪੁਰੀ ਲੋਕ
ਬਿਸ਼ਨੂਪ੍ਰਿਆ ਮਨੀਪੁਰੀ, ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਬਿਸ਼ਨੂਪ੍ਰਿਆ[lower-alpha 1] ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇੰਡੋ-ਆਰੀਅਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸਮੂਹ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਸਾਮ, ਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਰਾ, ਮਨੀਪੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਤਰ-ਪੂਰਬੀ ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਬਿਸ਼ਨੂਪ੍ਰਿਆ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਬੰਗਾਲੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੀਤੇਈ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ (ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਮਨੀਪੁਰੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ) ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਕ੍ਰੀਓਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪੂਰਵ-ਬੰਗਾਲੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ।[2][3][4] ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਤਿੱਬਤੀ-ਬਰਮਨ (ਮੀਤੇਈ) ਤੱਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ। ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਮੀਟੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਚਲਿਤ ਹਨ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਮੀਟੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਹੈ। 2020 ਦੇ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ, ਬਿਸ਼ਨੂਪ੍ਰਿਆ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਨੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਆਸਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਤੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਾਮ ਦੇ " ਆਵਾਸੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ " ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਆਦਿਵਾਸੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।[5] ਅਸਾਮ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਪੱਛੜੀਆਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀਆਂ (ਓ.ਬੀ.ਸੀ.) ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀਬੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਮਨੀਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਸ਼ਨੂਪ੍ਰਿਆਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਦਰਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਰਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ "ਸਟੇਟ ਕਾਉਂਸਿਲ ਆਫ਼ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨਲ ਰਿਸਰਚ ਐਂਡ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ" ਦੇ "ਕਬਾਇਲੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਸੈੱਲ" ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀਬੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।[6]
